As you engage in combat, you will generate a resource called crimson essence. This is your currency that you spend between runs on permanent upgrades and starting weapons. Temporary power-ups are also present during a run, which infinitely change your playstyle. While death is permanent in Hades, every time you play is a step toward strengthening yourself further. You will need to learn the enemies’ patterns and flow of combat to go deeper into this ever-changing hellscape and fight the monstrosities that lie within.
